Excerpt from Mogin's Maulers, the unit history

One of our missions flown in poor weather on this date was to take medical supplies to the 90th Infantry Division stranded across the Moselle (note it was actually the Saar) River north of Saarlautern. The 379th Squadron, chosen for the blood plasma mission, flew four escort ships and four with two tanks of the supplies apiece. Four tanks were dropped right at a road intersection where the boys were awaiting them and picked them right up. Two were dropped in a nearby woods and two hung and had to be returned. The 377th assigned to support the XII Corps was unable to see targets, so they dropped eight bombs and launched twelve rockets thru the overcast near Zwiebruken. Weather still limiting operations.

Note, that in variance to the account given in General Order 11, not all tanks were dropped. Other accounts indicate the tanks that hung were on Dad's plane.

Thanks to Stefan Reuter of Dillingen, Germany, who provided a copy of the pages of Mogin's Maulers for December 1 to December 16. He also identified the Infantry Division and provided additional materials which allowed me to find a lot of relevant information.
